The Mission Bit First Annual Hackathon

Friday, July 13th

9AM - 3PM

University of San Francisco / Harney Science Center / RM 136

Join us for a day of hacking!

At Mission Bit, we’re working to close the tech divide through a three-part strategy of exposing, engaging and employing young people to pursue college degrees in computer science and careers as software engineers.

What would happen if students designed their own learning platform?

As we expand and consider building a custom learning management system (LMS), we want to put students at the forefront of this growth and give them an opportunity to design and prototype our LMS. This event will include three workshops, and at the end of the day each team will be able to pitch their idea and compete for prizes.

We believe this hackathon will encourage students to actively participate in designing their future.

Want to help out?

Sign up for a 3 hour shift and share your passion for CS! Volunteers are encouraged to act as “mentors” and support our students through brainstorming, troubleshooting, and motivation! UX Designers are strongly encouraged to apply!

Your contribution will provide food and/or prizes for our Hackathon participants! If you'd like to offer food or prizes as an in-kind donation, please select the "GIFT" option on the right.

One word: SWAG. No event is complete without fun giveaways! Stickers, bags, pens, notebooks, and t-shirts are all welcome! Additionally, we are also accepting any in-kind donations suitable for a prize in our Pitch Competition.
